Event & Activities Through The Years!

On May 17th, 2020, the Haitian American Alliance partnered with the Hatian Times, the Hatian Medical Association and, held a live concert on YouTube for donation, awareness, and promotion of the COVID-19 Task Force, which offers various services to the community, including donation to GHESKIO/ Global Health Alliance in Haiti towards their COVID pandemic efforts
HAA has established the first Haitian American College Scholarship through our Youth Alliance program to honor our youth and promote leadership skills and education. HAA raises money for scholarships for young Haitian American High School students entering college based on means and achievement. HAA has provided educational advocacy services to assist parents and children in navigating and obtaining appropriate public-school services. We have assisted in translation and referrals to other agencies and partnered with advocacy organizations like United We Stand of New York, LTD. HAA also partnered with a Micro-Enterprise project to provide our community members with English as a second language (ESL) and pre-literacy services. HAA operated the Haitian American Learning Center after-school and summer programs, including computer, tutoring, and scholarship programs. HAA supports young Haitian American entrepreneurs who require financial literacy support to achieve their goals. In 2009, the Haitian American Alliance (HAA) formed a partnership with NOAH/NY to establish a medical mission to Haiti. HAA focuses on mental health, community development and soccer as a leadership tool. We aim to provide quality healthcare to underserved Haitians in Haiti and towns where we are invited to provide care. Our affirmative actions emphasize education and encompass:
  • Healthcare
  • Educational Seminars
  • Soccer Project
  • Mental Health Relief
  • Community Planning & Development
Since our inception, we've adopted the town of Fort Liberté to assist with issues of health care disparities, community and economic development activities. We have participated in voter registration in the US and assisted with citizenship applications to help community members transition from new immigrants to US citizens. We also promote civic education for individuals so they may fully participate in American society. When we have an economically strong, savvy, empowered and educated community, our whole society benefits including Haiti.
